During this fellowship, she published the largest series of deep inner eye infections in the world. From 1986-1996, Dr. Shrader served in numerous capacities most of them simultaneously!! Dr. Shrader was also recruited to Wright State University as Assistant Clinical Instructor and later promoted to Associate Clinical Instructor, which involved instructing and overseeing all the clinical activities of the third year medical students. During this same time period, Dr. Shrader practiced Infectious Diseases full-time, which allowed medical students and residents to rotate on her service. Dr. Shrader opened a Medical Travel Clinic for evaluation of pre and post-world travel issues. Kettering Medical Center utilized Dr. Shrader’s skills naming her Infection Control Physician for both of their hospitals for 10 years. Some of Dr. Shrader’s noteworthy achievements include, YMCA’s 1992 Dayton, Ohio’s “Career Woman of the Year”, Wright State University’s Teacher of the Year Award in 1996, and the first female physician chairperson for Kettering Medical Center’s Dept of Internal Medicine. Dr. Shrader’s passion for dermatology led her into a three year residency at Wright State University where she again was selected as Chief Resident. Thereafter, Dr. Shrader lived and practiced in Melbourne for three years. Subsequently, Loma Linda University recruited her as their Dermatology Residency Program Director. Her love for Florida drew her back to Merritt Island five years ago, where she enjoys birding, roller skating, and cars/racing. She is a member of multiple professional organizations and her professional interests include melanomas, skin cancers, noninvasive cosmetic medical treatment, and dermatologic surgery. |
