Patricia Baumann, D.O.
...is board certified by The American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. She is fellowship trained in Adult Reconstruction Total Joint Replacements. Dr. Baumann graduated from Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Lauderdale, FL in 1994. She completed her Internship at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, OH in 1995. And her residency at Frankford Hospital - Bucks County in Langhorne, PA in 1999. Dr. Baumann did her fellowship in Adult Reconstruction - total joint replacements (specializing in complex revisions) at The University of Chicago in Chicago, IL in 2000. Prior to moving to Brevard County, Dr. Baumann was an Assistant Professor at the University of Florida - Jacksonville where she was the Chief of Adult Reconstruction. While at University of Florida, Dr. Baumann performed state of the art surgery including, total femur replacements, growing prostheses, patient matched implants, limb salvage procedures and numerous complex surgeries, some of which are still considered cutting edge and were the first of their kind performed in the southeastern region. She continues to be involved in student and resident education as a Clinical Assistant Professor for Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. She has practiced in the North Brevard area for the past three years. Dr. Baumann is also the Chairman for the Oral Section of the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery. She has also been very involved with peer education through the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics. Dr. Baumann has been an avid educator locally through community lecture series. She has also published several research articles in national journals. Dr. Baumann has been involved with designing new technology for hip and knee replacements as well as revision hip and knee replacements. Her vast experiences in revision joint replacements and post-traumatic joint replacement surgery has given her unique insights into complicated joint replacements. |
