Joseph Wasselle, M.D., F.A.C.S.

...graduated Cum Laude from the University of Miami. He attended the University of South Florida Medical School where he was recognized as the Outstanding Student in Surgery. He completed his General Surgical Residency at the University of South Florida in Tampa, and was an instructor for laparoscopic surgery during his last two years. He devoted himself to a year of research in a Fellowship of Surgical Oncology and Tumor Immunology and gained national recognition for his award winning work in cancer research. Dr. Wasselle completed his training by completing a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at the University of South Florida.

He has gained Board Certification in both General Surgery and Vascular Surgery. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, Florida Surgical Society and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has authored or co-authored several internationally recognized papers in the fields of General, Vascular, Oncologic, Cardiothoracic and Laparoscopic Surgery. He has also authored a book chapter on carotid surgery in the text book entitled Surgical Management of Cerebrovascular Disease. Dr. Wasselle continues to dedicate himself to the total care of the surgical patient by being on the forefront of surgical technology and advances. He does not limit his practice to a particular surgical sub-specialty, but rather offers all the skills for which he was trained.

Dr. Wasselle is a native Floridian and has recently moved to the Space Coast from Tampa. In his spare time, Dr. Wasselle enjoys golf, tennis, volleyball, scuba diving, fishing and his young family.
