William Catena, M.D.

...is board-certified both in internal medicine and infectious disease. Dr. Catena was born and raised in northern New Jersey, and educated at Fairleigh Dickenson University, also in New Jersey. Dr. Catena received his medical degree from the University of Rome, Italy. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mountainside Hospital and his fellowship in Infectious Disease at Saint Michael's Medical Center, both in New Jersey.

While at Mountainside Hospital, he served as the division chief of Infectious Disease and served on the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee, the Residency Clinical Competency Committee, and chaired the Infection Control Committee at Mountainside Hospital. In addition, Dr. Catena was an Associate Clinical Professor at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and also served in the capacity of infection control consultant to Kessler Institute of Rehabilitation throughout New Jersey.

Dr. Catena is married to Mary Beth, who up until recently was practicing public health nursing. They have two daughters, Dominique and Francesca.
