Effie D. Samitas, M.D.

...is a Doctor of Internal Medicine. She graduated Cum Laude from the University of South Florida with a B.A. in Chemistry and continued her studies there at the University of South Florida's School of Medicine where she received her medical degree. She completed her residency at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida. Subsequently, Dr. Samitas moved to Columbia, South Carolina where she served at W.J.B. Dorn VA Hospital, in both the Departments of Internal Medicine and Ambulatory Care. In addition, she also served as Assistant Professor at the University of South Carolina School of Medicine where she supervised medical students and residents in their training.

She is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Physicians.

Dr. Samitas lives in Indialantic with her husband Dr. Mark Psarakis and two daughters. She enjoys cooking, playing the piano and traveling.
