Cesar Jara, M.D., FACC, FSCAI

...is a Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular diseases and Internal Medicine.

Dr. Jara specializes in cardiovascular care and interventions, including non-invasive cardiology, such as nuclear stress testing and echocardiography, as well as coronary angioplasty and stents. He also specializes in peripheral vascular diseases, such as non-invasive arterial vascular ultrasound and invasive endovascular interventions to arteries of the legs, renal and carotid arteries to treat vascular insufficiency, severe hypertension with renal disease, and to prevent strokes, in patients that qualify and benefit from this invasive approach.

Upon graduation from Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University, Lima-Peru, he was chosen among the best in his country and offered and Internship and Residency in Internal Medicine at University of Miami, Florida. Then again honored as a Chief Medical Resident and granted a fellowship first in Cardiovascular Diseases and then in Interventional Cardiology, being twice the recipient of the Martin H. Stein Memorial Award for superior performance, upon completion of his Interventional Cardiology Fellowship.

Dr. Jara is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology and a Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. His teaching experience includes Adjunct Faculty at the University of Miami, lectures at local and international meetings, and publications, including two chapters in the handbook “Interventional Cardiology Secrets” (2003). He has worked before in Miami and most recently in the N.W. Indiana area, in close cooperation with the Northwestern University Faculty in Chicago, starting the carotid stenting program at St. Mary Medical Center in Hobart, IN.
